Printing Delay + Future Plans!

Printing Delay

I'm a little disappointed this week to get the news that instead of my books being ready for me to pick up at the shop, the foil supplier informed my book printer at the last minute that they were unable to complete their part of the process to print the foil embellished covers due to the covers being too large for their machinery.  Now, my book printer will have to print the covers in-house, then ship them off to be embellished with the foil.

At the very least, the interior pages of the books have all been printed. Now, we are merely waiting on the covers to be printed and embellished with foil, then for the pages to be bound into the books.

I trust that the extra wait will be worth it for that special shine I wanted my Kickstarter special editions to have.  I've been informed that they are expediting the last phase of the process at the very least, so hopefully we will not have to wait too much longer!

The Future of the Ladies of the Months

Meanwhile, work continues on the Ladies of the Months as a series!  I've recently announced several new items coming on the agenda, including a wall calendar, an upcoming art book, enamel pins, etc. so if you'd like to keep up with this project as it grows, check out my Patreon where I'm posting the latest developmental updates.

You can get an even deeper look at the creative process and help my project evolve with your feedback by pitching in there for as little as $1!

Based on the success of the Ladies' coloring book, I also have plans for several new coloring books as well, including books dedicated to my angel art, Monster Girls, and my Fantasy Art, but they will have to wait in the wings till I am satisfied with fulfilling this Kickstarter first!

Thanks for sticking with me throughout this extended process. I hope to have more news soon!

Printing Update + Happy New Years!
over 5 years ago – Fri, Dec 28, 2018 at 08:19:18 PM

As we head into the new year, I wanted to share a small update from my printer!  They contacted me yesterday to let me know that the interior pages are all printed, the foil embellished covers will be arriving next week, then they will need 3 to 4 more days after that to bind them all.  The books will be here soon!

I'm so excited to have this book in my hands soon!  The next update should be about prepping them for shipping and what you guys will need to do to prepare for that.

Till then, I hope everyone has a happy new year celebration!

Download Available! Gift Promise Card
over 5 years ago – Tue, Dec 18, 2018 at 01:47:45 PM

Christmas is almost upon us and I wanted to provide a placeholder for those of you who had been hoping to give the coloring book as a Christmas gift.  This card is 8.5x11 and should be printable on Letter sized paper (or feel free to resize it as you like).

I spoke to the printer today and they tell me that they are cutting the pages to size and awaiting the foil embellishment on the cover.  Things should be coming together soon!  I'll have more updates once they've completed the bindings.

Till then, I hope you all have a happy holiday and a merry Christmas!

Proof APPROVED! New Delivery Estimate
over 5 years ago – Fri, Dec 07, 2018 at 11:55:48 PM

It's been a little while since my last update and I wanted to let you all know how things were progressing!

First of all, things have been going well with my husband and myself.  After his next scan this month, we hope to declare him cancer free!  He may not even need treatment, as it looks like surgery removed all of his lymphoma.  This will be such a joyous occasion (and a HUGE relief).  We've been on pins and needles waiting for the appointment date!  Thank you for your well wishes and your patience while we've dealt with this massive life-changing event.

In book news, it took a little longer than expected to negotiate settings and format corrections with my printer, but today I'm happy to finally be able to share that the proofs for the cover and the interior pages have been APPROVED!  This means that the printer will finally be starting production, which should take approximately 3 weeks.

Proof Approved! I got to use a giant stamp to make this mark.

While we wait for the books to arrive, I'm keeping busy making sure I have all the Add Ons and extras ready so that I can organize shipping bundles for Backers as quickly as possible once the books arrive.  I've been trimming and signing prints, matting the originals, and getting as much as possible ready for their arrival!

200+ prints all trimmed and signed (plus more off camera).

The original drawings all matted and ready to go!

And for extra impact, here's a video of the first table covered with prints (which I had to move them all to fill the table again with MORE prints to trim and sign).

New Delivery Estimate

Unfortunately, with the way things are looking, it doesn't look like I'll have the books out in time for Christmas and this makes me very sad!  I hope to start shipping them out in January as soon as they arrive from the printer.

I figure what I can do to help soften the blow is design a little card you can print out at home that shows people a preview of what they'll be getting.  Once I'm done designing this card, I'll be sure to post an Update with it here!

For now, I hope you'll all join me in celebrating good health and this milestone in the book's creation!  I've learned so much about the process and I can't wait to move on to future creative prospects here on Kickstarter once we've wrapped up this project.

Thanks for your support and I hope you have a warm and safe holiday season!

Off to the Printer!
over 5 years ago – Tue, Nov 13, 2018 at 07:34:46 PM

A quick update for everyone!  I've finished all the extra work on the extra coloring pages and book's layout.  Last night, I officially sent off the files to the printer, who should begin work soon!  Here's a preview of the first few pages of the book's final layout:

I did make a few small changes to the mockup layout, in that I ended up putting the info for each page and the 'colored by' tag on the front of the pages instead of the back. I didn't want to complicate things or have any coloring bleed through revealing text on the back.  Now, the name of the artist as well as the colorist can be displayed both at once on the front if you choose to display your pages!

The printer has informed me it will take 3 weeks once the proof is approved, so now it's all a waiting game!  I may not hit my November shipping mark, but I hope to at least start shipping books out by the end of the year.  While we wait on the books to arrive from the printer, I'm going to meanwhile make sure I have all the packaging and things that we need ordered so I can ship them out as quickly as possible.  All of the original art that Backers have claimed has already been matted and packaged, leaving smaller tasks, like trimming prints and packing the rest up!

Until next update, I hope you all have a great Thanksgiving and thanks so much for your patience and support!
